Ruth Haas earned her Ph.D. in operations research from Cornell University.
Professor Haas' research is both algebraic and combinatorial, and spans both theoretical and applied topics. Her research interests include: combinatorics, splines, commutative and computer algebras, operations research and many outdoor athletic pursuits.
Haas has spent a sabbatical at the University of Twente at Enschede, Netherlands.
