During each month of the academic year, a mathematical problem will be posted here. The Smith student(s) with the largest number of correct solutions over the course of the year wins an all-expense paid trip to MathFest. They also take part in a national contest held during the conference. Anyone can submit a solution, but only Smith students are eligible for the prize.
Solutions may be submitted by email (rmehta@smith.edu) or placed inside the "Monthly Math Contest" folder outside 310 Burton. Solutions are due by 5pm on the last weekday of the month.
If you like the monthly math problems, then you should consider taking the Putnam Exam.
